"I just want to say a big thank you to the Sage Creek Shopper's Drug Mart. We recently put one of our dogs down and our second dog isn't taking it so well. In the last month our poor pug Diesel has tried 2 different anti-anxiety medications. Today we picked up a new drug to try to help him through his anxiety that we had to pick up from Shoppers. Today, in our bag of meds was a "special" prescription of milk bones. I'm assuming the pharmacist probably bought the bones out of her own money and made a special label. A kind gesture means so much to a family who is struggling. It made us smile through the tears."

Melalui akun facebook Sage Creek Residents’ Association, Ginette Van Roose berbagi cerita tentang resep obat miliknya di Facebook untuk mengucapkan terima kasih kepada apoteker Sonal Purohit karena telah memberikannya resep tambahan dari uang pribadinya dengan label khusus cara pemakaiannya. Status ini viral dengan ribuan share.

Dikutip dari situs www.cbc.ca, Sonal Purohit yang juga pemilik Apotek Sage Creek Drug Mart, menerima resep melalui faksimile kemudian menyadari bahwa isi resepnya adalah untuk Anjing.

“Ketika saya melihat resep itu untuk anjing … Aku sediakan tambahan resep lain,” kata apoteker Sonal Purohit, yang ternyata suka mengobati semua pasien dia dengan sedikit tambahan sesuatu.

Purohit mengatakan dia memiliki hubungan dekat dengan semua pasien, tapi memiliki titik lemah yang nyata ketika datang untuk hewan peliharaan. Hewan tidak tahu kapan waktu dan mengapa Diesel (nama Anjing) memakai obat-obatan ini, dia hanya ingin membuat hari-nya sedikit lebih mudah.

“Saya tidak menyadari bahwa melakukan sesuatu yang kecil dan sederhana seperti itu membuat seperti perbedaan besar untuk tidak hanya Diesel, tetapi untuk seluruh keluarganya,” kata Purohit, yang tersentuh oleh ucapan terimakasih di facebook yang saat ini heboh.

Di luar negeri Apoteker peranannya telah dirasakan oleh pemilik hewan peliharaan. Itulah sebabnya mengapa Apoteker saat ini harus muncul disetiap Apoteknya, saatnya berubah ke arah yang lebih baik dan memberikan pelayanan maksimal untuk masyarakat.
